Why CMC?

Most people go to college to prepare them for a career to make a living. Jesus tells us that there is more to life than that. Once we follow Jesus Christ as Lord, it means making him and his mission all of your life. He then declares that when we seek God and put his kingdom first, he will also take care of everything else we need in life (Matthew 6:33 ESV). CMC takes this kind of “kingdom first” approach. We prepare people for a higher calling to make a life for God first place.

Discipleship

All of our activities revolve around making Christ and his mission first place which involves several key things which are to:

  1. Love God First. (Matthew 22:37-38 ESV) 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment.
  2. Love Others Next. (Matthew 22:39 ESV) And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
  3. Follow Him. He Makes Us (Matthew 4:19 ESV) And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
  4. Pray to Him. He Sends Us (Matthew 9:37-38 NIV) 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
  5. Make His Disciples. He Uses Us (Matthew 28:18-20 ESV) 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Our focus then is on following Christ and his kingdom first for all believers to disciple the next generation (Matthew 28:18-20). It makes up the mission of the Bible’s message for us. Acts 2:17 also states that, “In the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy.” Our passion is to ignite this fire in your heart in a process of Spirit-filled discipleship. CMC is the place to prepare you to put God first in whatever place you are called to make his disciples.

Therefore, the programs offered at CMC consist of courses that will develop a student in a Spirit-filled biblical worldview for fruitful ministry. Throughout the course of their program, students’ instruction will include General Education, Bible and Theology, and Professional Studies courses with each one being carefully evaluated to ensure rigor and excellence for student growth. This academic preparation combined with practical experience opportunities ensures that students are practicing concepts they are learning in the classroom as they acquire them. From beginning to end, Scripture is the truth that is essential for the Church to flourish and grow. Students who have been taught at the level of Biblical Higher Education will effectively address the needs of a fallen world, strengthen the Body, and preach the Gospel fulfilling Christ’s Commission of making disciples. At CMC, students will acquire a deeper knowledge and understanding of Scripture that will in turn strengthen their walk as disciples of Christ in their process of growing in their relationship with Him and of discipling others. This missional and experiential learning experience is grounded in the Bible and transforms lives as it advances God’s Kingdom. CMC is a great choice for anyone considering practical and quality Biblical Higher Education that will move them forward in their calling.
